Suvam grew up in a small town in West Bengal and faced challenges early in life. After losing his father, he became the sole provider for his family, supporting his mother and himself. To secure their future, he needed to advance in his career. Although he had some experience in the hospitality sector, he didn’t feel fully prepared to progress. While he had the determination, he lacked clear direction and the industry-relevant skills employers were seeking.

That’s when Suvam heard about Generation India Foundation through a friend. The Food & Beverage Associate program felt like a turning point—and it was.

Despite personal loss and mounting responsibilities, Suvam approached the training with focus and determination. From customer service to communication and workplace professionalism, every module became a building block. The trainers, he recalls, didn’t just teach—they mentored.

Soon after graduating, Suvam secured a placement in a renowned restaurant in Kolkata. Today, five years in, he has built a steady career marked by resilience and quiet leadership. His income sustains his family, his confidence inspires his next steps, and his path is proof that strong foundations can be built from even the most uncertain beginnings.
