Generation for Governments

We collaborate with governments and government-supported nodal agencies to accelerate employment and improve economic mobility.

How we work

How does Generation India work with government partners?

We help youth acquire new skills by designing and implementing outcome-based programmes in partnership with both Central and State governments, as well as other government-supported entities.

We also work with stakeholders, including government bodies and training partners, to strengthen public skilling systems. We train their staff to use our methodology, generating a better return on public investment.

Benefits of working with Generation

We work closely with our government partners to address challenges in the skilling ecosystem. By utilizing an innovative methodology, we aim to design a scalable and sustainable model of skill development that supports inclusive growth and development.

Project Amber in India

A joint initiative by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Generation India Foundation. In collaboration with the NSDC and MSDE, GIF is transforming the approach to skilling in India through Project AMBER. This project is co-funded by MSDE (under the SANKALP programme) and private philanthropy and is supporting 30,000 learners, with a notable emphasis on gender diversity by targeting 50% female participants.

At Generation India, our mission is to demonstrate the transformative impact and scalability of our innovative 7-step methodology. By embedding our learnings and best practices into public policies, we aim to enhance outcomes (employment and retention) in the entire skilling ecosystem—engaging stakeholders like Training Partners, State Skill Missions, and District Skill Committees. Our commitment to an evidence-based approach is crucial for fostering a quality, results-oriented Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem in India.”
