Sandeep’s Story : From Doubt to Determination

FROM THEN TO NOW
Sandeep Sharma | Faridabad
General Duty Assistant (GDA) program graduate (2015 Cohort)
Raised in Faridabad, Sandeep always had a quiet interest in the healthcare industry. But life had other plans, detours, delays, and doubts made it hard to find a stable path forward. Until he discovered Generation India.
“At first, I had no expectations. I was just desperate to get out of the usual routine,” he says. “But I soon realised the program wasn’t just about job skills, it was about rebuilding self-belief. The trainers were empathetic. They never made me feel like I had wasted my years.”
He enrolled in the General Duty Assistant (GDA) program. With renewed confidence, Sandeep landed his first job as a Nursing Assistant at Max Hospital in Delhi.
But he didn’t stop there.
While working full-time, Sandeep pursued and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Radiology and Imaging Technology, a bold step toward his dream of becoming a radiographer.
Today, Sandeep works at IBS Hospital in Delhi as a Radiographer, a role that brings together his technical skills, experience, and compassion for patient care.
Legacy of Growth
Sandeep is now happily married with two children, balancing work, family, and a sense of pride in how far he has come.
“Generation gave me a way in. What I did after that, I kept building, step by step.”
His story is a reminder that progress doesn’t always come in leaps. Sometimes, it comes in quiet determination, in second chances, and in refusing to give up. From GDA trainee to Radiographer, from uncertainty to impact, Sandeep’s journey is one of continuity, confidence, and change that lasts.
