Nikita Koli: Turning Skills into Stability
Nikita Koli grew up in Udaipur in a family of five, where her father was the sole earner. As she grew older, the financial pressure at home became more visible, shaping her determination to contribute and support her family.
After completing her diploma from a government college, she began searching for a job. Despite consistent effort, opportunities were difficult to find – not due to a lack of willingness to work, but because her skills did not align with what employers were looking for.
“I searched everywhere for a job, but nothing happened,” she says.
“My main concern at that time was how to support my family financially,” she adds.
Choosing to Build Skills That Matter
Nikita first learned about Generation India through a mobiliser visit at her college. The programme offered a structured pathway to build practical skills and prepare for employment.
“I decided to join the programme to get employment opportunities,” she says.
She enrolled in the Solar PV Installer programme in Udaipur, focusing on gaining skills that could translate directly into work.
Learning Through Practice
The training emphasised hands-on learning, giving Nikita practical exposure to real-world tasks.
“I enjoyed the practical sessions the most during the training,” she says.
Alongside technical training, the programme focused on workplace behaviour, discipline, teamwork, and communication – skills that shaped how she approached professional environments.
Trainers provided consistent guidance throughout, helping her prepare for interviews and understand workplace expectations.
“The trainers were very supportive and helped us prepare for placement opportunities,” she adds.
Over time, this structured approach helped her move from uncertainty to a clearer sense of direction.
Stepping into Work
After completing the programme in November 2025, Nikita secured a role at Omji Solar Enterprises in Udaipur.
She now works as a Sales Operator and MIS Manager, managing client interactions, handling solar product requirements, and guiding customers on government subsidy schemes.
“I handle client management and guide customers on how to benefit from solar connections,” she says.
With a steady income, she is now contributing to her household and reducing the financial pressure on her family. The role has also strengthened her confidence and sense of responsibility.
Looking Ahead
“I feel more confident and positive about my future,” she says.
Nikita plans to continue building her skills and growing within the solar sector. With experience, she aims to take on greater responsibilities and improve her earning potential.
What began as a difficult job search has now become a clear starting point – built through practical skills, consistent effort, and access to the right opportunity.
