Namitha: From Palladam to Purpose

Namitha: From Palladam to Purpose

Namitha grew up in Palladam, in Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu. Her parents worked hard to keep the household steady. Education was encouraged. Employment after graduation was uncertain.

After completing her education, she thought it would open doors. It didn’t. Not immediately.

For months, she applied. Few responses. Fewer interviews. Without work experience or specialised skills, she struggled to position herself.

“I often felt underqualified,” she says. “I couldn’t see a clear path.”

The challenge wasn’t only professional. Money was tight. Relocating for unpaid training wasn’t realistic. Each application that went unanswered deepened the question: what was missing?

The Realisation

The turning point wasn’t a single rejection. It was the pattern.

Employers wanted more confidence, clarity, and workplace readiness. She began to understand that the gap wasn’t intelligence or effort. It was preparedness.

When she heard about Generation India’s Customer Care Executive programme, she enrolled with a clear intention: to align herself with what employers actually required.

Learning to Show Up Differently

The training was structured and practical. At first, speaking in front of others felt uncomfortable, and answering behavioural questions required reflection she hadn’t practised before. With consistent feedback from trainers and mentors, she gradually built confidence. The change was subtle but measurable: she no longer approached interviews hoping to be chosen. She approached them prepared.

The Offer

Within weeks of graduating, Namitha received an offer from Digitide in Hyderabad. It was her first job.

“With consistent guidance and placement drives, I secured employment quickly,” she says.

What Changed

Financial independence was immediate. She could contribute monthly, not occasionally. Her family felt more secure. More importantly, her self-perception shifted. She no longer describes herself as underqualified. She describes herself as growing.
