Monu’s Story of Learning and Growth

FROM THEN TO NOW

Monu Singh | Bareilly
General Duty Assistant (GDA) program graduate (2018 Cohort)

Despite holding a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma, Monu felt uncertain about his career. With limited financial resources, the path ahead seemed unclear.

“I had always been interested in healthcare, but I didn’t feel qualified. Generation India showed me there was another way to begin,” Monu recalls.

In 2018, Monu enrolled in Generation India’s General Duty Assistant (GDA) program, gaining critical patient care skills and practical knowledge that would become the foundation of his future.

“I learned how to care for patients properly. But also, I learned how to think beyond the job, how to start something of my own,” he says.

After completing the training, Monu secured a job as a Patient Care Worker at one of India’s leading home healthcare providers. There, he deepened his understanding of the industry, customer care, and operational efficiency.

But Monu didn’t stop there.

Guided by purpose and vision, he launched his own nursing care service, delivering vital healthcare support to his community — and today, he is thriving.

“Generation India gave me the skills, the structure, and the confidence. Today, my business is running well, and my family’s financial condition has improved significantly.”

“My whole life will be dedicated to this work. Generation India gave me a direction, and a life I could believe in.”
