Meet Izhar.

After completing his 12th grade, Izhar Ahmad expected to continue his education. But with his family’s responsibilities taking priority, he put his studies on hold and began working alongside his father in Bhiwandi’s powerloom industry, taking up other jobs whenever opportunities came his way.

Even as he worked, Izhar was thinking about his future. He wanted more than a job that would help him get by. He wanted to build a career that offered stability, growth, and the ability to support his family over the long term.

“I was looking for a way to build something better for my family, not just for my next job.”

Looking for an opportunity to develop new skills, Izhar began exploring computer training. His search led him to a training centre in Bhiwandi, where he learned about Generation India. After speaking with the trainers and understanding the programme, he enrolled in the Customer Care Executive programme.

Preparing for the Workplace

Izhar was drawn to the programme because it combined industry-focused training with workplace skills and placement support.

He also came to understand that succeeding in a customer-facing role required more than technical knowledge. Clear communication, professionalism, confidence, and the ability to work consistently were just as important.

The programme helped him develop these skills and, more importantly, gave him a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in a professional environment.

Learning by Doing

For Izhar, learning extended beyond the classroom. Weekly projects gave him opportunities to collaborate with others, while presentations helped him become more confident in communicating his ideas. Mock interviews prepared him to think on his feet and understand what employers look for beyond formal qualifications.

The experience also changed how he approached work. He had always valued hard work, but the programme showed him that working effectively also means knowing how to solve problems, communicate clearly, and make thoughtful decisions.

From Skills to a Career

After completing the programme, Izhar secured his first professional role and has since progressed to his current position as a Sales Agent.

With a steady income, Izhar is now able to support his family financially and share responsibilities that once rested largely on others.

Recognition at work, including performance-based rewards and company-sponsored trips, has given him another reason to keep pushing himself. For Izhar, these moments are a reminder of how far he has come – and what becomes possible when preparation meets opportunity.

Izhar wants to continue learning, strengthen his skills, and take on greater responsibility as his career progresses.
