From Saoner to the Cloud: Sukant Tekade’s First Step into Tech
Sukant Tekade set out to build a career in technology with clarity about what he needed: stronger skills, practical exposure, and the confidence to meet industry expectations.
“I had been actively searching for jobs after my education,” he says. “I had some basic knowledge, but I knew I needed stronger skills and more confidence to match industry expectations.”
Growing up in Saoner, near Nagpur, he learned early the importance of planning and responsibility within his family. After completing his graduation, he began exploring opportunities but quickly realised that a degree alone would not be enough. He needed to prepare more intentionally.
Choosing a Direction
Instead of continuing to apply broadly, Sukant made a deliberate shift. He began focusing on where he could build relevant, in-demand skills.
Through LinkedIn, he discovered Generation India’s AWS re/Start programme. Its focus on cloud computing stood out – a field that was growing rapidly and required specialised capabilities.
He chose to enrol.
“Generation India changed the way I think about my career and future,” he says. “It gave me clarity about the cloud domain and improved my confidence.”
With that decision, his approach became more focused. He was no longer applying to any available role but preparing for a specific path.
Converting Preparation into Opportunity
During the programme, Sukant worked toward building a strong technical foundation. He earned an AWS certification, strengthening his understanding of cloud technologies and how they are applied in real work environments.
When he later received an offer from Accenture, that preparation aligned with the role.
“Since I earned an AWS certification through the AWS re/Start programme, it became easier for me to get allocated to the cloud stream,” he explains.
On 26 November 2025, he joined Accenture – his first job.
Today, Sukant works in the cloud stream, supporting projects that use AWS and related technologies. His work reflects the skills he chose to build and the direction he committed to.
Looking Ahead
“I feel much more confident and hopeful about my future now,” he says. “With the skills and experience I have gained, I believe I can grow further in my career.”
Sukant continues to focus on strengthening his expertise and gaining deeper experience in cloud technologies.
