Bhumika Vasita wanted something simple but important from her career: independence, stability, and the ability to support her family through her own work.

Growing up in Udaipur, she watched her father work hard as an auto driver to provide for the family. His determination shaped Bhumika’s own aspirations and strengthened her desire to build a career of her own.

Bhumika discovered Generation India’s Retail Sales Associate programme, which offered her an opportunity to build the practical and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a customer-facing career.

Building Confidence Along the Way

During the programme, Bhumika discovered that working in retail involved much more than completing a transaction. She learnt how listening to customers, understanding their needs, communicating clearly, and responding confidently could shape their experience.

The experience also changed how Bhumika viewed workplace readiness. She began to understand that confidence is built through practice, feedback, and a willingness to keep learning.

Taking Her First Step into a Career

After completing the Retail Sales Associate programme in February 2026, Bhumika secured a position as a cashier at Patanjali, with support from Generation India’s placement process.

Today, she manages billing, processes payments, and interacts with customers — putting the skills she developed during training into practice every day. Her first professional role has given her an opportunity to gain experience, take on responsibility, and begin building her career.

“I now support my family financially and feel more confident about my future.”

For Bhumika, this is only the beginning. She wants to continue learning, take on greater responsibilities, and build a career that offers opportunities for progression.
