Overview

This programme prepares participants for the Food and Beverage (F&B) Steward role. F&B Stewards are usually staff in hotels, restaurants, food kiosks who serve food and beverages, set and clear tables, transition dining rooms to different settings based on need, and support customers with their inquiries and needs.

What jobs can I do after completing the program?

This programme is designed to train individuals aspiring to work as F&B service stewards. After completing the programme, you could pursue several roles in the hospitality industry, including:

  • F&B Steward
  • Hostess

These positions encompass responsibilities such as guest assistance, food and beverage service, restaurant management, and offering recommendations to patrons regarding food and drink selections.

Who is this programme for?

This programme is open to anyone aged 18-29 years who is living in India and currently unemployed or working on a zero-hours contract.

You should be a 12th pass to apply and we encourage applications from groups under-represented in the society- particularly women under 30.

Willingness to work more than 12 hours standing.

Willingness to work on holidays and in rotational shifts, OK with salary range and adaptable.

  • Class 12th pass
  • Age Group  18-29 years
  • Not currently in education, training, or employment
  • Having basic proficiency in English (speaking, listening and reading)
  • Have the legal right to work & live in the India
  • You live in an Indian State

What does a Food & Beverage Steward do?

A Food and Beverage Steward oversees various aspects of dining establishments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. 

  • The primary job of a F&B Steward is to meet the needs of a restaurant’s guests by giving exceptional service throughout the visit.
  • Exceptional service starts with an understanding of a guest’s experience in a restaurant. This is called the guest journey. A guest journey involves the following: arriving, ordering and consuming food & beverages, paying, and leaving. 
  • Throughout the guest journey, restaurant staff will be responsible for the following service sequence: welcoming/directing, taking/receiving order, service of order, maintaining cleanliness, billing and payment, and clearing and relaying table.

10 minutes

This is the first level of screening. This phase determines whether the applicants are eligible to apply for the course or not based on their demographics.

Literacy Test

This phase determines/assesses student competencies with respect to comprehending simple sentences and very short simple social conversations through MCQ based questions (to check their listening & reading skill)

Fire in the Belly Test / Pre-work

In this, learners are assessed on persistence, future orientation & personal responsibility.

Interview

We’ll invite you to join an interview session so we can get to know you better and assess your communication skills, professionalism, motivational and programme fit, and willingness to learn.

Decision

You will be notified via email once a decision has been made regarding your admission and next steps.
